Violence begets violence

I want to begin this write up by asking these questions; how do you feel when people die? How do you feel when you see someone cry? Let the questions go thus; how do you feel when someone cry or die as a result of your actions?

3

These questions hit me on the face day in day out when I see someone or group of people perpetuate actions that lead to others suffering, actions that result to body injuries or even loss of lives. Today, we live in environment where some people feel good killing others. We are faced with the unthinkable and unspeakable. Man inhumanity to man is unfathomably unbalancing the scale of life. The media is filled with the stories of wars and warnings of wars. People take pleasure in the killings of fellow humans. Hostages and abductions of innocent people jump the scale. Then the question; is this the world we are dreaming for ourselves?

Some people may have reasons for turning to violence but what reasons do they have in killing people or making others feel pain.  I still don’t believe there is any reason for extreme violence. Yes as humans, we may sometimes loose control of our emotions but this may not be enough to let loose of our cannibalistic instincts. If we truly believe that life is sacred and that only God can give life then we should also know that it is big wrong to destroy what we can never create. Our world is fast decaying and peace is melting to oblivion but one man could change all these…

One major reason why these are happening is our desire for revenge. We want to revenge the wrongs done to our family members, our friends, our community or our religious group. Revenge in our societies is the reason why violence is cyclic. Revenge has never healed any wound it only deeps to sore and resonates the multiplier effects that creates a continuum. One man could change all these…

Another reason is found in people who use violence as diplomatic tool. Bombing is the order of the day. Bombs against civilians and other targets in peace time is unspeakable but that is happening in our time. Who is to be blamed for all these? I see religious leaders in their hamlets giving commands to faceless and brainwashed followers on how to destroy the world. There is ongoing war between religions and politic. This unconventional warfare has pitched religious devotes against the state. The result is violence in day time and all times. Innocent citizens are sacrificed just to gain the attention of people in government. Children are killed in the hands of their mothers just to start off diplomatic solutions. Our world is decaying but one man could stop all these…

When next you perpetuate your wickedness, walk across the streets and feel the pains of those you killed their loved ones. Stretch your hands and feel the hands of the innocents whose lives you’ve melted away. Remember violence begets violence. I believe that one man could stop all these…

Now that the page is written, let us find peace. In the deepest of our hearts, let us find peace. Only one man could help us achieve a non-negotiated peace. Peace without preconditions is the only peace that wipes away fears and gives no room for revenge. Only one man could change all these… only one man… that man is you.  I believe you could change all these.
